For 18 years the Errázuriz Alvear family lived there, and the palace has been the scene of several receptions, concerts, and dances.
The building also has an imposing French-style garden that serves as an extension of the reception halls. The central axis is the Swan Fountain, surrounded by flower beds that evoke designs from the Palace of Versailles.
In addition to the permanent exhibition, the museum has temporary exhibitions. For those who prefer, there are also guided tours available, all details and schedules are available on the official website.
In the entrance courtyard of the museum, you will find one of the units of the Croque Madame restaurant. The restaurant has tables outside and is worth a visit for a coffee, drink, snacks, lunch, or dinner.
